XBS

XBS は分子や結晶をシンプルな Ball and Stick モデルで 表示します。連続した frame を順に表示するアニメーションも可能です。 PostScript 出力ができます。 表示は派手ではありませんが、小さなプログラムで軽快に動作します。

使い方

インストールしたら、 サンプルが /usr/share/doc/xbs-19970906/ にあります (*.bs というファイル名) ので、試してみましょう。

ターミナル・エミュレータから

$ xbs /usr/share/doc/xbs-19970906/c60.bs

で起動する (.bs は付けなくてもよい) と次のような画面が出ます。

カーソルキーおよび "," と "." キーを使って自由に回転させることができます。 テンキー (ただし NumLock すること) では左右上下に移動できます。 ズームは "+" と "-" です。 "n" を押すと各原子の番号を表示し、もう一度 "n" を押すと元素記号を表示します。

"h" を押すとへルプが出ます。終了は "Q" です。 "i" とするとコマンドが入力でき、細かな設定ができます。

起動時にオプション -autocolor を付けて

$ xbs -autocolor /usr/share/doc/xbs-19970906/serp.bs

とすると原子ごとに異なる色が自動で付きます。

この serp.bs には 110 の frame がある move file (serp.mv) が付属しています。"[" と "]" キーで frame を順に表示させることができます。

man page は用意されていませんが、 起動時に xbs -h とすると使用法を表示します。

$ xbs -h

インストール

LinuxMLD 5,6,7 用の RPM xbs-19970906-1_mlb1.i386.rpm (108,560 bytes) をインストールします。
rpm コマンドでインストールするにはスーパーユーザになって

# rpm -i xbs-19970906-1_mlb1.i386.rpm

とします。
MLD 5,6 では Gnome の GUI でインストールすることもできます。
